Turn left into a small alley called Looierspoort (between Lange Groenendaal nr. 60 and nr. 62). NB: not accessible with prams or wheel chairs.

 

Enter the next alley Arie Kerssensteegje at theright and turn left at the Geertje den Bultsteeg, you’ll reach a canal named Turfmarkt.

Before turning right, you may want to take a look at this street; the view of the Turfmarkt is locally quite legendary from the Trappenbrug (a bridge with stone steps).

At Turfmarkt nr. 23 (location nr. 20)the formerSynagogue is located, nowadays the Church of the Liberated Evangelist Parish, which resides in this building. On the other side of the canal, the Verzetsmuseum (WWII Resistance Museum, location nr. 27) is open for visitors and encloses a very nice patio garden with café.

When leaving the museum cross the canal over the bridge and enter the Naaierstraat. At nr. 6 you pass a historical monument elected in the Top 100 of Dutch heritage sites with a beautiful gothic facade, dating from 1527.

Turn left and enter the Korte Groenendaal, when you walk on you will be back at the Market Square (location 1). Enjoy!
